What a wonderful Christmas!!! Dylan and Hannah opened two gifts that Santa had left under the tree: a Fisher Price flashlight/lantern and a ring toss/balance board game. Dylan and Hannah were excited to see that Santa and Rudolph had eaten the cookies/candy and carrots we left out for them on Christmas Eve night. Santa and Rudolph even left a little thank you note (with a deer print and all)!! Dylan waited somewhat patiently for Hannah to wake up from her morning nap so we could go over to Mimi and Papa Otte's house to celebrate and open more gifts!! We went to Mimi and Papa's house and immediately opened gifts in a flurry of wrapping paper, tissue paper and gift bags. Hannah was sort of into opening gifts but not as enthusiastically as Dylan. Dylan was gracious enough to "help" Hannah open EVERY one of her gifts. He was very patient with her, encouraging her to help him tear the paper:)
Dylan got a Lightning McQueen scooter (which he later practiced with in Papa's heated garage), an electronic alphabet and word toy, a glow in the dark moon and stars to stick on the walls of his room, a big John Deer tractor and trailer, a microphone, a remote control car, Lightning McQueen ornament (Lenox) and train ornament (Lenox).
Hannah got her very first purse (with a cell phone, lipstick, keys, mirror and wallet complete with debit card), a baby doll (with milk and orange juice bottles), a stroller for her new baby, an electronic alphabet toy, a fisher price record player and a Winnie the Pooh ornament (Lenox).
Hannah and Dylan had gone to Wildflower Ceramics the week before Christmas and made a bowl and spoon rest for Mimi and a mug for Papa. They also made an ornament with their hand prints on it for Mimi and Papa.
We played for a while with all the new toys, Mimi's Christmas trains and all of Mimi's musical Christmas decorations before going upstairs to eat brunch. Mimi had made pancakes, hash browns, fruit, eggs and juice.
We played some more before we went home for awhile so Dylan and Hannah could take their afternoon rest. After they woke we went back to Mimi's house to play and have supper.
For supper we had turkey, stuffing, gravy, Swedish meatballs, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, green beans, lettuce salad, cherry/whip cream salad, Christmas bars/cookies and peppermint stick ice cream. Hannah and Dylan go to frost their own cutout cookies:)
After playing some more, TRYING to take some family photos using the timer and eating more treats, Dylan and Hannah had baths. We watched a little of Frosty the Snowman before heading home.
We had a wonderful day! It is so amazing and enjoyable to see Christmas through the eyes of a child with those you love!! We look forward to the New Year ahead:)
